Want To Run Away From It All?

We all feel this way at some point. With the bills rolling in, and the stresses of just the every day surviving. It just seems easier to pack up and disappear. Go somewhere, where no one can find you and just clear our heads!

Well, today we are going to run away together! We are going to get as far as we can from all of our stress, and anxiety.

So…. Where should we go?

Many meditation/visualization videos tell you to get in a comfortable place with no distractions. Visualize yourself in the place you would run to. Give yourself as long as you need to fully encompass yourself in everything that would be there. The sights, the smells, the feelings you get just being there. Then stay there as long as you need too.

Now, doesn’t that feel nice?

Yeah, that all sounds fun and dandy Morgan, BUT WHAT IF I HAVE KIDS?! I can’t just lock them in a room, and disappear for an hour in my head!

Why not? 🙂 I’m only kidding, and you’re right! I’ve always wondered what do people with LIVES do, when they can’t literally just pull away from it all.

I am here to tell you, you too can run away with us! You will just have to do it a little differently.
Visualizing can come in so many different forms! You visualize everyday with your children. When you’re playing and acting out their imaginations with them. When you’re coloring and drawing those enchanting pictures. You can use all these tools to escape as well.
Even better, you have the most imaginative beings on the planet. Children! So, include them! Set up a room to resemble the place you want to go and tell your children you’re all going on an adventure! You can have them pack their backpacks with all the things they would bring. Make lunches that would be served there, or look like things you would see. Just spend the morning in your imaginations, and I’m sure they would be more then happy to help out with the visuals 🙂

Want something even simpler! I know you have some crayons laying around somewhere. Have everyone draw the places they want to go. Include the animals you would see there. The plants, people, landmarks. All the reasons why you wanted to go there in the first place. When you’re done sit down and discuss your drawings, or do it while you’re drawing them. Really go to those places with each other, in your minds. After, hang them in a very special place, so you can see them all the time. Every time you walk by you will have the pictures of all the places you, and your babies have visited together!

We all need to take time out of our days to do this. I know I forget all the time. We get caught up in the hustle and bustle, that we don’t take the time needed to just “Run Away” for a while.

Don’t have kids, but still have a life? Do the same thing! On your lunch break go to that place. Either in a drawing, or moment of mental visualization. Plan to bring a lunch for the next day that will take you there through tastes and smells.

Visualizing is our main weapon in the battles of life. It’s like when you play against the computer in a video game. Without visualizing what we want in life, we are the computer. We have no plan of action, we are simply reacting to the moves of the living, breathing players. In real life, you can survive as the computer, even win, but you are never fully in control. You will always be, getting ahead, or failing, only based on the reactions of the people in your life. We need to take our controllers back, and become a living breathing player again!

I mentioned slightly about the meditation videos earlier. Almost in a joking manor, but I do believe in them immensely! Binaural Beats are my go to. You can find some of the most powerful mind and mood changing moments through these audios. I recommend you looking them up when you do have a literal moment to yourself. You won’t regret it 🙂
